Ingredients

  • 0.12 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 cup (8 fl oz), Water
  • 1 large White onion
  • 1 tsp(s) Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 40 g Calamansi
  • 500 g Frozen Tuna Cubes

Instructions

  1. Slice the white onion and set aside.
  2. Thoroughly rinse the frozen tuna cubes under cold water.
  3. In a mixing bowl, coat the thawed tuna cubes evenly with cornstarch.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add tuna cubes and sear until golden brown on all sides, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and sauté until transparent and soft, about 2 minutes.
  6. Mix water, low sodium soy sauce, ground black pepper, and salt in a bowl.
  7. Pour the soy sauce mixture into the skillet with onions and bring to a simmer.
  8. Return the seared tuna cubes to the skillet and cook in the citrus soy sauce until well-coated and heated through, about 3 minutes.
  9. Squeeze calamansi juice over the tuna and stir to combine.
